A guest-house opened on the Yangon-Mandalay highway on 2 July. Travelers can stay overnight for free if they get tired from traveling long distances.
The guest-house, named Kisapanady, is located at Bawdigone Highway Fire Services station at the No. 137 milepost. It was open by the Fire Services Department as a community service.
“Our director general has been instructed to open a free guest-house to provide a place for people to stay if they encounter troubles while travelling on the highway,” said U San Shwe Tun, deputy director of the Fire Services Department in Arakan State.
There are 15 Fire Services stations on Yangon-Mandalay highway representing all 15 states and regions in Myanmar. The Kispanady guest-house was open by the Fire Services station representing Arakan State. The guest-house has facilities for guests to cook food.
“We opened a free guest-house to help people who have trouble traveling at night,” U San Shwe Tun said.
The guest-house includes one double bed, three single beds, a bathroom, a toilet and kitchenware.
