Jewelry from dead woman missing in Pauktaw Township
A woman was found dead at the creek near Tan Myet Chaung village in Pauktaw Township, Rakhine state, on the morning of April 22, according to a village administrator.

A woman was found dead at the creek near Tan Myet Chaung village in Pauktaw Township, Rakhine state, on the morning of April 22, according to a village administrator.
Ma Aye Win Naing, 22, was missing since evening of April 21, her body was found the next morning, the administrator said.
“I think she was killed for jewelry she wore. All valuables apart from a watch were stolen,” said U Tun Naing, administrator for Ngapyitet village.
Some jewelry worth more than two million kyat went missing. Markings on her neck suggest she may have been tied up with rope, he said.
The police station in Pauktaw Township is now conducting an investigation to confirm the case according Pauktaw police station.
Pauktaw Myoma police station told the DMG that legal proceedings have been undertaken regarding the death of the woman.
“We have to wait for a forensic report to confirm the cause of the death,” an official from the police station said.
Her body was taken to the Pauktaw Township hospital.
