The Mandalay People’s Defense Force (MDY-PDF) said Monday that it has achieved 80 percent of its military targets, in a message thanking allied revolutionary organisations.

It is participating harmoniously with fellow anti-regime groups in the second phase of Operation 1027 and the offensive at the border of Shan State and Mandalay Region, the group said.

Its achievements so far are attributable to the cooperation of partner revolutionary organisations, it said.

It has seized control of Mogok and Singu towns and wider territory in Mandalay Region thanks to coordinated attacks against the regime, it said.

The MDY-PDF in its statement also reiterated its commitment to work together with allied revolutionary groups until Myanmar’s military dictatorship is rooted out.

The MDY-PDF is fighting alongside more than a dozen anti-regime groups based in Kyaukse, Myingyan, Madaya, Nyaung-U, Yesagyo, Singaing, Tamu and Shwebo townships in central Myanmar.

It is currently conducting an onslaught on junta positions in Mandalay’s Thabeikkyin Township, and has so far seized nine positions. It is operating under the command of the parallel National Unity Government (NUG).
