At least 126 civilians were killed and 208 others were injured in Arakan State by junta air and artillery attacks, raids, and explosions of landmines and unexploded ordnance in the three months from September through November, according to a DMG tally.
Of the three months, October saw the highest number of civilian casualties, with 65 deaths and 115 injuries.
In November, the regime's airstrikes and the like killed 34 civilians, including children and the elderly, and injured 35 others. In September, the regime killed 27 civilians and injured 58 in Arakan State.
"I just pray that the fighting stops soon. As long as the fighting continues, people will be affected in one way or another," said a local woman in Ponnagyun Township.
Two internally displaced people (IDPs) were killed and 19 others were injured in a junta airstrike on Khayaing Village, Taungup Township, on December 1.
"The regime is bombing civilians everywhere. The regime is committing crimes by targeting civilians without reason," said a local woman in Myebon Township.
The regime is continuing to launch airstrikes on towns besieged by the Arakkha Army (AA) as well as towns occupied by the AA, causing psychological and physical harm to residents and IDPs.
"The international community is monitoring the regime's crimes. The international community is trying to cut off the regime's financial access as much as possible and is urging countries around the world not to sell it weapons," said U Pe Than, a political analyst in Arakan State.
A total of 713 civilians were killed and 1,563 others were injured by junta attacks over the past year in Arakan State and Paletwa Township in neighbouring Chin State, according to a report by the Humanitarian and Development Coordination Office (HDCO) of the United League of Arakan/Arakkha Army (ULA/AA).
