The military affairs committee of anti-regime groups in Karenni State have congratulated the Brotherhood Alliance on their military victories in Arakan and northern Shan states and Mandalay Region.
In a statement on Sunday, the committee said it was proud of the Brotherhood Alliance and allies that captured the Northeastern Command of the Myanmar military on Saturday.
The military committee consists of the Karenni Army, the Karenni Nationalities People’s Liberation Front, Karenni National Solidarity Organization, Demoso Township People’s Defense Force and Karenni Nationalities Defense Force.
The momentum of “Operation 1027” is attributable to unity and collective strength, said the statement.
The committee said it is satisfied with and has trust in the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDAA)’s commitment to protect the lives and property of civilians in Lashio and protect the rights of civilians in northern Shan State. It said it hoped the MNDAA could restore peace and stability to the region as soon as possible and strive for its development.
The statement reaffirmed the commitment of anti-regime groups in Karenni State to continue to fight for national equality, self-determination and a federal, democratic Union.
The regime has lost at least 73 towns since Operation 1027 was launched in late October of last year.
