A young man from Ashaemrauk Ywathit Ward in Rathedaung, Arakan State, was severely injured on Wednesday morning in a landmine explosion and lost one of his legs, according to local residents.

The Arakan Army (AA) seized Khamaungwa camp, a strategic hilltop base in Paletwa Township, Chin State, on January 2, the Three Brotherhood Alliance said in a statement.

“The military council fired shells continuously. Some 10 shells landed in the town,” said a Minbya resident.
