Tatmadaw kills two ARSA militants, captures three in Maungdaw Township
The Tatmadaw captured five members of Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) along with guns, ammunition and improvised mines in Maungdaw Region, Arakan State on 21 November, according to a statement issued by the Commander-in-Chief’s Office.

The Tatmadaw captured five members of Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army (ARSA) along with guns, ammunition and improvised mines in Maungdaw Region, Arakan State on 21 November, according to a statement issued by the Commander-in-Chief’s Office.
The Tatmadaw troop engaged in a clash with eight members of ARSA about 4,000 meters west of Kha Maung Seik Village, they killed two militants and captured three while conducting a clearance operation in the area based on a tip.
“The Tatmadaw killed two ARSA terrorists, detained three and seized guns, ammunition and improvised explosive devices, and food,” the statement said.
The arrested ARSA members and seized weapons and related items were transferred to Aung Zu regional police station.
According to the statement, the Tatmadaw troops are ramping up necessary security measures to control the activities of ARSA in the villages in Maungdaw Township.
ARSA launched coordinated attacks on three police outposts in Maungdaw Township, Arakan State in 2016 simultaneously.
The terrorist group also launched deadly assaults on 30 police outposts and an army base in Buthidaung and Maungdaw Townships in 2017, resulting in the killing of many civilians including some Hindus.
