Regime counters TNLA assault in Shan State’s Kyaukme with aerial barrage
A junta jet fighter dropped bombs on TNLA positions near the scenes of fighting multiple times on August 4, the TNLA statement said.

Myanmar’s military regime has been carrying out airstrikes in clashes with the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) in Kyaukme, northern Shan State, the Ta’ang ethnic armed group said in a statement on Sunday.
The TNLA is launching attacks on the regime’s Military Operation Command No. 1, and Light Infantry Battalion (LIB) Nos. 501 and 502 in Kyaukme Township. Fighting between the military and TNLA is fierce as the regime has responded to the ethnic armed group’s assault with aerial counterattacks.

A junta MI 35 gunship fired nine shots at the scenes of fighting and a military Y-12 jet fighter dropped 22 bombs, the TNLA said.
The regime has reportedly used cargo aircrafts to transport junta troops and other reinforcements to northern Shan State.
A military Y-12 jet fighter airlifted weapons and reinforcements to LIB Nos. 501 and 502 multiple times on August 3 and 4.
The TNLA and allied forces have seized Shan State’s Momeik and Nawnghkio, and Mogok in Mandalay Region since the breakdown of a China-brokered truce on June 25.
