The search continues for a person who had close contact with coronavirus Case No. 339 in Kyauktaw Township, Arakan State, said Dr. Than Tun Oo, superintendent of the Kyauktaw Township Hospital.
Case No. 339 was recorded as a COVID-19 positive patient on July 16 and a person who was in contact with the infected individual fled quarantine in Inbari village, Kyauktaw Township, on July 14.
Case No. 339 brought two people who illegally returned from Bangladesh by motorboat from Hsin Tet Maw Muslim refugee camp in Pauktaw Township to Inbari village in Kyauktaw Township on June 26.
Dr. Soe Win Paing, assistant director of the Arakan State Department of Public Health, said: “The government informed the Ministry of Health about the missing person who had close contact with Case No. 339. The patient is in good condition now. The patient tested negative twice now.”
A person who returned from China to Kyauktaw Township’s Yaugnsone village died on July 14 at Apaukwa cottage hospital while under quarantine. The returnee died of stroke, pneumonia and hypertension, said the superintendent of the Kyauktaw Township Hospital.
In Arakan State, a total of seven COVID-19 patients are being provided treatment at hospitals in Maungdaw, Buthidaung and Kyauktaw townships, while eight others were discharged after recovering.
