Myanmar's military regime reportedly carried out simultaneous aerial bombardments on Ponnagyun, Rathedaung and Kyaukphyu townships in Arakan State on October 30, killing six civilians and injuring at least 12 others.
A local man was killed and two others were injured in a junta drone attack on Autzeekaing Village in Rathedaung Township on Thursday.
A junta jet fighter reportedly dropped at least 10 bombs on Ponnagyun town at around 3 p.m., damaging several buildings.
The regime also bombed Zinchaung Konbway Village in Kyaukphyu Township around 4 p.m. on the same day, killing five locals and injuring at least 10 others.
The military regime has conducted repeated air, artillery and drone attacks on townships across Arakan State in recent days, heightening fear among residents.
"The military regime has been bombing residential areas continuously these days, so I feel unsafe. Even when I go to the market, I get scared if I hear loud noises. The military regime is targeting everyone, so I am worried," said a local woman from Mrauk-U.
On October 29, a Myanmar Navy vessel reportedly fired artillery shells into Taungnyo Village in Pauktaw Township, which is under the control of the Arakan Army (AA), killing a five-year-old child and injuring two men.
The regime is intensifying its airstrikes and targeting civilian areas where there is no fighting, leading to a growing civilian death toll.
Junta bombings killed six locals and injured at least 17 others in Arakan State in October, according to a DMG tally.
As airstrikes continue daily, local residents have been warned to remain on high alert for possible aviation hazards.
"The military regime is expected to launch an offensive against Arakan State soon. It has been conducting airstrikes recently and is likely to intensify attacks on areas bordering the fighting, so the public needs to be on high alert," said a military observer.
Locals report ongoing clashes between the military regime and the Arakan Army along the border between Sittwe and Ponnagyun townships, with daily exchanges of heavy weapons and drone fire.
Between November 13, 2023, when fighting for control of townships in Arakan State began, and September 30, 2025, Myanmar's military regime killed 970 civilians, injured 2,054 and detained 1,000 people through air and small arms attacks, the Humanitarian and Development Cooperation Office (HDCO) said in a statement on October 25.
