Three civilians including a child were killed and three others were injured in a junta aerial attack on Pauktu Village, part of Arakan State's Thandwe Township, on Sunday.
The civilian deaths were reported after a regime jet fighter dropped a bomb on Pauktu Village at around 11 a.m. on September 22.
"The junta carried out an airstrike on the village without any fighting in the vicinity. The injured are being treated at a nearby clinic and their conditions are said to be life-threatening," said a resident of Thandwe.
The deceased have been identified as Maung Yazar Min, 9, U Zaw Min Tun, 39, and Daw Khin Thuzar Naing, 35. The injured are Maung Yazar Tun, 15, Daw Nyo Aye, 55, and Ngwe Zin Kyaw, 39.
The deceased were reportedly from a single family and 15-year-old Maung Yazar Tun is also the son of the slain U Zaw Min Tun.
The injured are currently receiving medical treatment, but reportedly need assistance to cover medical costs and other help as they are low-income.
The regime frequently carries out airstrikes on residential areas and displacement camps in Thandwe Township, which is held by the Arakkha Army (AA).
"The fact that the military is targeting civilians rather than the battle area is blatantly committing war crimes," said a youth in Thandwe.
Four locals were injured in a regime air assault on Hsingaung Village in Thandwe Township on September 3.
At least 494 civilians were killed and 886 others were injured by junta airstrikes, artillery attacks, gunfire and landmine blasts during the latest fighting in Arakan State, according to a DMG tally as of September 13.
