TNLA accuses junta of violating China-brokered Haigen accord

The Myanmar military has on multiple occasions violated the Haigen Agreement signed between the regime and the Three Brotherhood Alliance in northern Shan State, the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) said in a statement on June 18.
One TNLA member was killed and four others were injured after the military attacked a camp in Nawnghkio Township, northern Shan State, with two drones, the statement added.
Four mortar shells fired by junta troops stationed in Ohnmatee Village fell and exploded in a TNLA camp in Samasel Village, the statement said.
Three TNLA fighters were injured after a junta jet fighter dropped a 500-lb bomb on a location between Mangpein and Pantin villages in Momeik Township on June 9.
The regime reached a ceasefire agreement with the Northern Alliance on January 11 with China’s mediation.
Since then, the regime has been conducting airstrikes and artillery attacks in northern Shan State, the TNLA said.
Military tensions between the military and Northern Alliance have been running high in Lashio, northern Shan State, in recent days.
