Severe flooding across at least eight townships in Arakan State in recent days has left more than 100,000 residents affected.

Among the worst-hit areas are communities in the Yoechaung area of Kyauktaw Township, including Kanthonesint, Lamu Leetnet, Nichay and Autlar villages, where many homes have been completely submerged.
In Kanthonesint Village, which has more than 160 households, the entire village was inundated, contaminating all five community drinking water ponds.
As a result, displaced villagers are facing severe shortages of clean drinking water and urgently need food supplies and other humanitarian assistance.
