Tatmadaw’s tactical command base was occupied after a clash near Pyan So village in Paletwa Township, the Arakan Army announced Monday evening.
It apprehended 11 prisoners of war and seized weapons and ammunition after the most fierce fighting in March, it said.
“The clash occurred at a place 5.5 kilometers south of Pyan So village and started on March 9 at about 1 p.m. The fighting was so intense and continued until 4:40 p.m. Two helicopters from Tamadaw’ air force launched offensives at 2 p.m. that lasted for 25 minutes,” the announcement said.
“The area is temporary a tactical base, according to the prisoners of war,” it said.
The Tatmadaw has not yet announced anything regarding the situation. The DMG called Brig- Gen Zaw Min Tun, spokesperson of Tatmadaw, five times and tried to contact with Colonel Win Zaw Oo from Western Command to confirm the AA’s announcement but was unable to reach officials in the Tatmadaw.
