A local woman in Pyinhla, part of Arakan State’s Ponnagyun Township, was injured in a drone attack launched by the military at around 1 p.m. on Saturday.
Daw Hla Nyunt Yi, 53, was wounded when a bomb dropped by the junta drone fell and exploded in front of her home.

“The situation will get worse if the junta launches drone attacks at night. Some residents including elderly people and children fled to safer locations in fear,” said a resident of Thayettapin Village.
One civilian was killed and three others were injured in a junta air raid on Arakan State’s Ramree town on December 18.
Fighting in Arakan State remains oftentimes intense and civilian casualties have continued to rise due largely to the junta’s indiscriminate use of heavy weapons since renewed fighting between the military and Arakan Army began on November 13.
According to a DMG tally, 28 civilians were killed and 128 others were injured in Arakan State and neighbouring Chin State’s Paletwa Township as of December 20, in junta attacks involving artillery, fighter planes and warships.
