The Tatmadaw has taken back into its custody a rice mill owner from Sabarhtar village in Ponnagyun Township, Arakan State, who had been transferred to a police station in Sittwe, according to family members. 

A 6-year-old boy from Aungzigone village in Arakan State’s Rathedaung Township was wounded by an artillery shell believed to have been fired by the Tatmadaw on September 11, according to locals.

Cargo trucks plying routes from the Arakan State capital Sittwe to lowland areas will have to temporarily halt operations as of September 9 due to COVID-19, according to highway express drivers. 

A murder case has been opened against the owner of a shrimp pond in Maungdaw Township, Arakan State, after a police officer was found dead near its waters on September 7.
