Buthidaung township court released U Maung Hla Thein, a land survey staff member who was facing charges under the Counter-Terrorism Laws. He was released on bail on November 7 in the morning because of a lack strong evidence.

One out of 19 firefighters, who were detained by the Arakan Army (AA) last month died of a heart attack, and the remaining 18 firemen were released on November 6, the AA’s spokesperson Khaing Thukha said.

A civilian, one of 25 abductees from the Shwe Nadi express ferry boat, who was released from AA’s detention and had been subsequently interrogated at Border Guard Police Station (3) in Buthidaung Township, has been sent to the township hospital yesterday afternoon due to his health.

A Tatmadaw unit detained a man from Yaw Chaung (Ywar Tharyar) village in Myebon Township at around 1 p.m. on November 3, the family of the detainee said.

“We transferred 25 civilians safe and sound to the Ngwe Taung village administrator. We also gave them K15, 000 each to cover transportation expenses. We also gave back all their belongings, such as mobile phones,” 

22 civilians released by the AA after their detention have been questioned at the No.3 Border Guard police station since 3 P.M. on 5 November, State MP U Tun Aung Thein for Buthidaung Township said.

A man identified as U Myo Lwin was beaten and abducted by an unknown group at Late Kha Maw village, Kyauk Phyu Township, on 4 November, according to Kyauk Phyu Myoma police station.

A husband and wife were injured by stray artillery fire while they were in their house in Kyaung Taung village, Mrauk-U Township, at around 12 p.m. on November 4, locals said.

More than 40 Arakanese young men and women, who arrived in Chin Shwe Haw town, Laukkaing Township, Northern Shan State between the China and Myanmar border to enter China, were questioned and sent back to their homeland by the authorities.

The Arakan Army (AA) continues to detain a Chin State MP for security reasons despite releasing nine other civilians on the morning of November 4 who were held and questioned together with the MP, AA spokesperson Khaing Thukha told DMG. 

About 300 refugees were taking shelter in the camp and they had to sell their personal property such as gold or borrow paddy from local farmers because the camp had run out of food, said U Than Myint, manager of the camp.

Arakan Front Party (AFP) members and supporters prayed for the release of Arakanese political leader Dr. Aye Maung who was sentenced to 20 years imprisonment. The service took place on his 62nd birthday party on 1 November.

The Tatmadaw took U Maung Than Hlaing, 51, and U Hla Tun Sein, over 60, on 27 October. U Maung Than Hlaing was taken by the Tatmadaw while he was tending a herd of cows near the field outside the village whereas U Hla Tun Sein was called by the Tatmadaw while he was running away from his village because of gunfire, said Daw Ma Wah, wife of U Maung Than Hlaing.

The younger sister of the Arakan Army (AA) Chief Maj-Gen Twan Mrat Naing and her husband were remanded in custody for the second time at Mayangone Township Court in Yangon on 1 November.

46 Muslims returned to Maungdaw Township, Arakan State from Bangladesh on 31 October, U Soe Aung, Deputy Commissioner of the General Administration Department told the DMG.

Nine government schools were closed in Buthidaung Township because of clashes between the Tatmadaw and the Arakan Army (AA), according to the township education officer office.
