Five killed, five injured in regime airstrikes on Taungup Twsp villages
Five civilians were killed and five others were injured in a Myanmar junta air assault on Moung and Mee Chaung Htoe villages in Arakan State's Taungup Township on Wednesday.

Five civilians were killed and five others were injured in a Myanmar junta air assault on Moung and Mee Chaung Htoe villages in Arakan State's Taungup Township on Wednesday.
The deceased have been identified as Ma Su Myat Win, 14, Ma Wut Yi Win, 14, Daw Ma Kyan Tin, 48, Daw Kyan Tin, 49, and Ko Naing Lin Soe, 31, from Moung Village. The injured are Ma Su Mar Win, 17, Daw Tin Aye, 65, Daw Khin Khin San, 47, U Maung Phyu Chay, 36, and U Thaung Aye, 56.
"A junta jet fighter dropped two bombs on Moung Village yesterday afternoon without any fighting in the area, killing four people on the spot. One person died on the way to the hospital," said a local resident.
A junta jet fighter also dropped bombs on Chaung Htoe Village on Wednesday night, with the number of civilian casualties unknown as of press time.
The civilians injured in the junta airstrike on Moung Village are currently receiving medical treatment and their conditions are considered not life-threatening.
"The regime carries out air assaults on residential areas without any fighting in the area. The regime instils fear among the locals," said a Taungup Township resident.
Two women were injured in a junta air attack on Chaungthonekhwa Village, Taungup Township, on October 19.
Junta airstrikes caused at least 50 civilian casualties in Taungup Township from September 24 to October 31, according to a DMG tally.
