One displaced civilian was killed and four others were injured after the military regime launched aerial attacks on Pannilar IDP camp and Aungphyupyin Village in Ponnagyun Township, Arakan State.

At around 10:00 a.m. on October 5, a formation of at least three military aircraft, including jet fighters and Y-12 aircraft, dropped bombs on Pannilar IDP camp and Aungphyupyin Village.

Local residents reported bombs striking multiple locations, including a volunteer clinic inside Pannilar IDP camp and areas inside Aungphyupyin Village.

"The junta airstrike hit Pannilar IDP camp and Aungphyupyin Village," a local man from Ponnagyun Township said. "A woman was killed in Aungphyupyin Village. At the displacement camp, two female students and a man were injured."

In Aungphyupyin Village, 50-year-old displaced woman Daw Hla May Than was killed.

At Pannilar IDP camp, 14-year-old Ma Sandar Soe, 18-year-old Ma Khine Thazin Soe, 50-year-old Daw Hla May Thein, and 52-year-old U Nyi Chay sustained injuries.

At around 5:00 p.m. on October 4, military forces dropped two 500-pound bombs on Byarla IDP camp, located between Yoengu and Thayetcho villages in Ponnagyun Township, killing at least six displaced civilians and injuring more than 10 others.

In addition, a military airstrike on Aungphyupyin Village on October 2 injured two displaced persons and one local resident.

Escalating aerial bombardments against displacement shelters have further compounded the hardship faced by internally displaced families already suffering severe shortages of food, shelter and basic necessities.

A displaced woman from Yarchaung Village in Ponnagyun Township described the hardship faced by displaced families.

"We have been forced to flee our homes two or three times already," she said. "Moving from place to place without a permanent residence creates extreme difficulties for shelter and daily food. Constant airstrikes make us fear for our basic survival."

Facing military setbacks across active frontlines in Arakan State, junta forces have conducted daily aerial attacks against densely populated civilian areas under Arakan Army control, including displacement camps, public markets, bridges, schools, hospitals and religious buildings.

On September 28, a military airstrike targeting India Market and the Kissapanadi Bridge in Kyauktaw Town killed 50 civilians and injured 57 others.

International organizations, human rights advocates and local residents have strongly condemned the military regime's attacks on civilian populations, demanding swift international action and accountability.

Residents across Arakan State continue to endure severe physical and psychological trauma from widespread military air attacks, forcing entire communities to abandon their homes in search of safety.
