India has sent back 151 junta soldiers who fled into Mizoram state during an Arakan Army (AA) attack on the regime’s Point 377 outpost in Chin State’s Paletwa Township, near the India border.
The junta soldiers were flown back home on a Myanmar military aircraft on Tuesday, reported Indian news agencies.
Myanmar soldiers on Friday fled to Mizoram’s Lawngtlai district with their arms and ammunition, and approached the Assam Rifles after their outpost near the India-Myanmar border was overrun by AA troops. The AA occupied the Point 377 outpost on Thursday.
The Assam Rifles reportedly provided medical treatment to injured junta soldiers.
In November last year, 104 junta soldiers fled into India after their outposts were overrun by the Chin National Defense Force. The Indian government handed them over to the regime.
Fighting has been raging in Paletwa Township as the AA attacks junta outposts in the township. The AA seized a junta outpost at Khamaungwa on Tuesday.
