The United League of Arakan (ULA), the political wing of the Arakan Army (AA), is expanding its administrative departments across Arakan State amid ongoing military conflict.

The ULA continues to establish and strengthen sectoral departments aimed at providing public services across areas under its control.

In an official statement issued on September 30, the ULA announced a recruitment drive for 105 positions within its Department of Agriculture and Livestock, ranging from assistant machine operators to deputy supervisors.

"The ULA has established at least 15 functional departments, among which agriculture and livestock is vital," an Arakan affairs observer said. "Agriculture and livestock form the primary backbone of the Arakan economy. Strengthening departmental capacity under current conditions is a positive step, while also opening tangible career opportunities for local youth."

The recruitment drive seeks to fill 20 Deputy Supervisor positions, 50 Junior Clerk or Assistant Machine Operator positions, five Assistant Mechanic positions, 20 Office Assistant positions, and 10 Assistant Driver positions, totaling 105 positions.

Applicants must be between 18 and 25 years old and can submit applications to their respective township Department of Agriculture and Livestock offices until October 17.

Candidates will undergo written and oral examinations. Successful applicants must agree to serve for a minimum of three years in the Department of Agriculture and Livestock under the ULA and must attend required training courses during their tenure.

The ULA aims to strengthen personnel capacity and revive and develop the agriculture and livestock sectors across Arakan State.

"Rebuilding the agriculture and livestock sector is the single most critical task for regional economic recovery," a Kyauktaw resident said. "With Arakan State currently facing blockades on multiple fronts, local people are suffering severe hardship. We hope expanding this department will help alleviate public struggle."

As a coastal territory with more than 1.1 million acres of arable farmland, Arakan State has geographic and natural advantages for agriculture and livestock breeding.

However, wartime conditions and resulting blockades have severely disrupted agricultural production and halted emerging livestock enterprises across the region.

Farmers and local residents have expressed hope that the ULA's departmental expansion will help revitalize local production, improve food security, and improve socioeconomic conditions across Arakan State.
