The junta is making arrangements to reopen some security checkpoints along the Maungdaw-Angumaw road in Maungdaw Township, Arakan State, according to locals and truck drivers.

The Myanmar Corn Industrial Association and United Amara Bank (UAB) have cooperated to partner with local corn farmers in Zalun, Myanaung, Ingapu, Nyaungdon, Pantanaw and Maubin townships in Ayeyarwady Region this year.

Health officials have warned local people in Arakan State to exercise caution in consuming mushrooms after some cases of food poisoning have been reported in the state.

The Arakan Army (AA) has completed its first training course for officers inside Arakan State, the Information Department of the ethnic armed group said on Monday.

“Cases of dengue fever were mainly recorded in Taungup, Kyaukphyu and Sittwe townships,” said Dr. Zaw Zaw Aung, assistant director of the Arakan State DPH.

A restaurant owner and a local man were arrested for allegedly squatting on land that the junta-controlled Ministry of Construction claims ownership of in Ward 3 of Ramree Township, Arakan State.

The Three Brotherhood Alliance issued a statement on July 2 stating that they would work together in the fight against terrorism and criminal activities in their areas of control in order to protect regional stability and the lives of the local people.

The slain ALP officials have been identified as the group’s vice chairman, Khaing Ni Aung; battalion commander Khaing Kyaw Min; and Private Kyaw Kyaw Naing.
