Myanmar’s military regime has taken in billions of kyats from donors in the aftermath of Cyclone Mocha, according to junta spokesman Major-General Zaw Min Tun.

Four Muslims from Arakan State’s Sittwe Township have been trafficked after they were lured by false promises of jobs, according to family members.

As the school cannot hire the teachers it needs, the students are struggling to pursue their education, said Venerable Vasudeva, presiding monk of the monastic school.

There are 128 people in Arakan State who were charged under Section 17(1) of the Unlawful Associations Act or Section 505(a) of the Penal Code, according to a DMG tally.

His visit came one day after he met junta boss Min Aung Hlaing in Naypyitaw to discuss the provision of humanitarian assistance in Myanmar.

The rattan industry in Arakan State is on the verge of collapse as rattan-ware is being replaced by plasticware, according to rattan furniture producers.
