The speaker of state parliament U San Kyaw Hla condemned members of cabinet because few members attended the parliament session even though it was convened on 13 June at the behest of the Arakan State government.

A Tatmadaw troop that was heading to Mrauk- U town from Pan Myaung village on the evening of 13 June fired heavy weapons into Ywar Haung Taw village, four local residents were injured, according to a villager.

A thirteen-year-old girl from Ngan Chaung village in Maungdaw Township was murdered and the assailants are still at large, village administrator U Win Htay told the DMG.

A village administrator from a village in Kyauktaw Township was injured after he stepped on a landmine on the morning of 11 June.

“A few days ago, there had been clashes surrounding Pauk Taw Byin village. After the clashes, our informer said that members of the AA were staying with villagers in nearby villages,” Colonel Win Zaw Oo said.

A community based basic sewing training course is being presented to 20 women from Buddhist, Muslim and Hindu communities in Maungdaw Township.

 An unexploded artillery shell embedded in the ground in the monastery compound in Htaung Laung Pun village, Ponnagyun Township, made local villagers anxious about the potential danger of the ordinance detonating.

The regional government could not construct shelters for IDPs yet because of armed conflicts in Northern Arakan State, this has created mounting concern for their living in the coming rainy season.
