A Tatmadaw column released 12 local residents it took from Thazigone Village, Rathedaung Township in Arakan State on 20 November through a police outpost in Inn Din Village on 21 November.

The Amnesty International and the ASEAN Parliamentarians for Human Rights have demanded the immediate release of the Amyotha Hluttaw MP U Hwei Tin, who has been abducted by the Arakan Army (AA).

Stray artillery fire injured one person and killed another at Amyat Taung village in Rathedaung Township, Arakan State on the evening of November 21.

A man who has been detained by the Tatmdaw was submitted to Ann hospital on November 21 to have medical treatment, the family of the detainee said.

“When I went and met my son at police station today, I saw that he has injuries on his right hand and back. He was beaten with a bamboo stick while being questioned by the Tatmadaw. I saw the other detainees with injuries as well,” U Maung Than Moe, father of a detainee Kyi Linn, told DMG.

Villagers of Thar Si Gone in Rathedaung Township, Arakan State, claim Tatmadaw members snatched 12 residents from their village, but the Tatmadaw denied the claim.

The Arakan Front Party (AFP) released a statement on 20 November to free Pyithu Hluttaw MP Dr Aye Maung from Ann Township, who has been sentenced to 20 years’ imprisonment.

The Arakan Army (AA) stated that nine people died and 13 people surrendered from the Tatmadaw, including a captain and a warrant officer, after fighting with the Tatmadaw on the afternoon November 19 in Paletwa Township, Chin State.

An anonymous villager said that a fight erupted between the Tatmadaw and the Arakan Army (AA) at around 4 p.m. on November 18 near Yaw Chaung village in Myebon, and two helicopters from the Tatmadaw arrived and launched the air attack.

A Tatmadaw unit was attacked by explosive devices on November 13 beside Yangon – Sittwe highway road near Thayat Tabin village in Kyauktaw Township, and the attack injured and killed some Tatmadaw soldiers. 

A woman was hit by a piece of shrapnel when an artillery shell exploded in a compound in Hteik Wa Pyin village of Mrauk-U Township in Arakan State at about 1a.m. on 19 November. 

A woman was hit by a stray bullet and was injured while she was sitting in front of her home in Pan Myaung village, Minbya Township on the morning of November 18, locals said.

Four people including a publisher and seller of the Rakhita calendar were sentenced to two years imprisonment by the Nagpudaw Township court in Ayeyarwady Region on November 18 under section 17 (1) of Unlawful Association Act, the lawyers of the sentenced people said.

Families are concerned for two people detained by the Tatmadaw in Arakan State’s Ann Township because the Tatmadaw did not allow their respective families to meet them.

Fighting between the Tatmadaw and the Arakan Army (AA) broke out aggressively on November 16 near Lai Gwin (Nwar Lar Kyaw) village in Rathedaung Township, the Tatmadaw used two helicopters, the local said.

Solar-power is being given a test run in for 24 hours Manaung town as of 14 November according to township electricity department.

The Tatmadaw has questioned local residents from Thayet Tabin village in Kyauktaw Township since 14 November, forcing villagers flee to other places including Kyauktaw town.

“The Tamadaw’s Light Infantry Battalion 536, 537, 538 have shot off more weapons recently, so we launched a counter attack as a warning as a response,” the AA’s spokesperson Khaing Thukha said.
