Thousands of people displaced by fighting between the military and Arakan Army (AA) in Tawphyarchaung, a remote area in Arakan State’s Ponnagyun Township, are reportedly facing food shortages.

Light Infantry Battalion No. 289 based in Paletwa was responsible for the artillery strike. Ma Daewi Tun, the daughter of a hospital employee, was injured.

Junta troops arrested four residents of Ywama (Arakanese) Village in Arakan State’s Buthidaung Township at around 4 a.m. on Thursday, according to locals.
