Regime claims AA, PDF fighters surrendered with weapons in Pathein
The military regime issued a propaganda statement on March 26 claiming that 10 members of the Arakan Army (AA) and eight members of the People’s Defence Force (PDF) surrendered with their weapons and ammunition to the Southwestern Regional Military Command in Pathein.

The military regime issued a propaganda statement on March 26 claiming that 10 members of the Arakan Army (AA) and eight members of the People’s Defence Force (PDF) surrendered with their weapons and ammunition to the Southwestern Regional Military Command in Pathein.
According to the regime’s report, the surrendered Arakan Army members are from various townships: two each from Thandwe, Mrauk-U and Gwa, and one each from Myebon, Ramree, Ponnagyun and Maungdaw.
The PDF members who reportedly surrendered are from Kyaitlat, Ingapu, Yekyi, Shwe Thaung Yan, Hainggyi Island, Laymyethna, Kyangin, and Pauk Township in Magway Region.
The report stated that junta officials welcomed the 18 individuals and held a ceremony to hand them over to their parents at the Ayeyarwady Hall of the Southwestern Regional Military Command on March 26.
The regime further said those who surrendered allegedly brought five MA-1 assault rifles, one MA-3 assault rifle, one MA-11 assault rifle, one SIG SAUER pistol, nine 35-round magazines, one SIG SAUER pistol magazine, one BA-91 hand grenade, 283 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition, 23 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, and 20 rounds of .380 AUTO ammunition.
The junta claimed it awarded cash incentives for the weapons: K5 million per rifle, totaling K35 million for seven rifles, K2 million for the pistol, and K300,000 for the hand grenade. Additionally, each of the 18 individuals reportedly received K300,000, bringing the total payout to K42.7 million.
Earlier, on March 20, the regime also claimed that one Arakan Army member and 21 PDF fighters had surrendered.
On March 19, the junta released further propaganda stating that a total of 506 fighters from the Arakan Army, Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA), and PDF had surrendered with weapons and ammunition, and that a welcoming ceremony was held at the Central Command.
