Four regime soldiers were wounded in a clash with the Arakan Army (AA) near Sanae town, part of Arakan State’s Kyaukphyu Township, on Saturday, the Three Brotherhood Alliance said in a statement.

Four regime soldiers were wounded in a clash with the Arakan Army (AA) near Sanae town, part of Arakan State’s Kyaukphyu Township, on Saturday, the Three Brotherhood Alliance said in a statement.
The fighting began at around 10 a.m. on December 23 when some junta soldiers entered an area controlled by the AA between Sanae town and Awataung Village.
The regime’s Taung Oo Maw naval base in Kyaukphyu deliberately fired mortar shells into nearby villages at about 10 a.m. on Saturday, the Three Brotherhood Alliance’s statement said.
A clash between the military and Arakan Army broke out near the Danyawaddy naval base in Thitpoketaung area in Kyaukphyu on December 22.
The clash erupted after the Arakan Army attacked a military truck carrying about 20 junta soldiers with rocket-propelled grenades (RPGs), with the fighting lasting for about 30 minutes.
Locals in Kyaukphyu Township are worried about their safety due to the regime’s heavy weapons and small arms fire.
The theatre of conflict has expanded into several townships in Arakan State and Paletwa Township Chin State after renewed hostilities between the military and Arakan Army began on November 13.
