A junta jet fighter dropped two bombs on Pannilar Village in Ponnagyun Township, Arakan State, at around 11 a.m. today, killing two children and two women and injuring at least 10 others.

Locals said the bombs landed near a school, causing panic among residents.

"The bombs dropped by a junta jet fighter landed on the road and near the school, killing at least four people on the spot. There must have been at least 10 injured. These are the initial reports. Everyone is in a state of panic. This is all I can confirm," said a local man from Pannilar Village.

The airstrike caused extensive damage, and additional casualties are feared, though numbers have not yet been confirmed. At the same time, the military regime also carried out bombing in Ponnagyun town.

"Just two minutes after the sound of bombing in Ponnagyun town, the military regime dropped bombs on Pannilar Village. Villagers are very worried, and some have evacuated urgently. People are in panic, and there are many casualties from the junta airstrike," said a local woman in Ponnagyun Township.

Pannilar Village hosts a large population of internally displaced people (IDPs) who fled from Sittwe and Ponnagyun, raising further concern for their safety.

Civilian deaths are rising as the military regime targets residential buildings, schools, and Buddhist monasteries.

On 30 October, the junta carried out air and drone attacks on Ponnagyun, Rathedaung, and Kyaukphyu townships, killing six civilians and injuring at least 12 others.

Airstrikes on Arakan State have intensified this week, prompting local authorities to urge residents to stay alert and monitor for attacks.
