The Three Brotherhood Alliance said in a statement that in order to fully achieve the goal of eradicating the military dictatorship that the entire Myanmar people are hoping for, the revolutionary forces need to work harder and have mutual understanding and trust among the resistance groups.
The Brotherhood Alliance, made up of the Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army, Ta’ang National Liberation Army and Arakan Army, released their statement on December 21, about a week shy of two months since the launch of its “Operation 1027”.
The balanced transition from Operation 1027 to a nationwide operation is pleasing to the people and revolutionaries, according to the alliance statement. The Three Brotherhood Alliance said that this is the most painful time for the Myanmar military, and the most war victims it has suffered in more than 70 years.
In addition to the military operations areas of the Three Brotherhood Alliance, revolutionary forces across the country have attacked the regime in various ways and from all angles, and the deserved victories are clearly seen day after day, the Three Brotherhood Alliance’s statement said.
Fighting between the Three Brotherhood Alliance and the Myanmar military is ongoing, and the regime is attacking towns and villages with aerial bombings and heavy weapons, and burning some communities to the ground, the statement reads.
The alliance has seized five towns — Chin Shwe Haw, Monekoe, Kunlong, Pansai, and Konkyan — and four border crossings with China in northern Shan State. It has also seized over 300 junta positions and hundreds of junta soldiers have surrendered during the fighting.
