Myanmar’s military regime has transported four elephants including a so-called white elephant that was born in July from Arakan State’s Taungup to Yangon, according to witnesses.

The Arakan National Party (ANP) will meet with the junta-appointed Union Election Commission (UEC) on Wednesday after it was summoned to Naypyidaw by the electoral body regarding a recent party statement condemning the regime’s fatal shellings of villages in Arakan State. 

The Myanmar military has arrested three men including a ferryboat owner and charged the trio under Section 19(b) of the National Drug Law for transporting medicines for Nga/Pa Thone cottage hospital in Arakan State’s Myebon Township, the accused told DMG. 

A Myanmar military contingent has detained four masons from Sanae town in Arakan State’s Ramree Township, family members told DMG.

The Myanmar military regime’s motor vehicle registration authority has begun issuing licences to about 100 motorbikes daily in the Arakan State capital Sittwe since September 28, according to U Kan Nyunt, director of the Road Transport Administration Department.

The Arakan Liberation Party (ALP) will take punitive action against members of the Arakan Liberation Army (ALA), the armed wing of the ALP, who shot and beat two residents in the Arakan State capital Sittwe on Sunday, said a party official.

A local philanthropist and some other residents of Mrauk-U Township, Arakan State, who were recently detained by Myanmar’s military regime have been released, family members told DMG.

Ko Mrat Thu Tun aka Ko Phoe Thiha, a former reporter in Arakan State’s Mrauk-U who was detained by the Myanmar military, was charged under Section 505(a) of the Penal Code on Friday, according to family members of the accused.

Six civilians including a child and an older teenager in Palaung Pyin Village, Minbya Township, were injured when their village was struck by junta artillery strikes at around 1 p.m. on Friday, according to local residents.

A 100-household head in Kanpyin (Muslim) Village in Arakan State’s Buthidaung Township was shot dead by a group of masked men at about 8 p.m. on October 6, according to a village administrator.

There were more than 20 clashes between junta troops and the Arakan Army (AA) in Paletwa Township, Chin State, in the first week of October, the ethnic armed group said in a statement on Friday.

Four local people in Arakan State’s Thandwe Township have been arrested in recent days, among whom two were reportedly charged under Section 17(1) of the Unlawful Associations Act.

Two senior members of the Arakan Front Party (AFP) went missing on Tuesday evening, according to family members. 

A local philanthropist in Mrauk-U, Arakan State, was reportedly taken from his home by junta soldiers at about 6 a.m. on Thursday, according to sources close to the detainee.
