A corpse bound with rope was found washed ashore in the Pauktaw Township village of Thae Khone on Friday morning, according to residents.
The deceased was a male whose corpse was bloated and in a state of significant deterioration, according to a resident who saw the body.
“The skin had peeled off all over the body. He was wearing an amulet. The face was dead white and unrecognisable, and the skin had peeled off. He was tied around the neck, and the rope was as long as four feet,” the resident said.
The identity of the man remains unknown, and local residents have reported the grisly discovery to Sin Tet Maw village police station.
There were also reports that a body was found between Pyaing Taung and Chaing Pyin villages, near Thae Khone village. DMG was unable to independently verify those reports, however, and local residents contacted by DMG declined to answer.
