More than 20 Chin organizations have called for an immediate stop to hostilities between the Tatmadaw and the AA in Arakan and Chin States and urge respective organizations to seek a solution by negotiating and reaching mutual agreements. 

The Tatmadaw said on 28 June that the AA detonated three remote controlled bombs and opened fire while a convoy of ICRC’s six trucks transported relief aid supplies for Maungdaw Region.

Shutting down mobile communication services in war affected areas while the government needs to ensure press freedom is creating even more problems for people in war-affected regions, an MP form Arakan State parliament says in parliament

The body of  a villager who died during a Tatmadaw interrogation on suspicion of affiliations with the Arakan Army was laid to rest in a tomb at a cemetery in Mrauk-U Township on the evening of 25 June.

While more than one million people from Arakan and Chin states have no access to the Internet, activists’ groups for digital rights and CSOs on 24 June called for a prompt action to stop the Internet shut down.

Since clashes between the Tatmadaw and the AA broke out on Tuesday morning near Sinthe village in Ponnagyun Township, local residents have fled to safety, the village administrator U Maung Chit Hlaing told DMG.

Two young villagers from Mrauk-U Township were detained and their families could not meet with them or have any kind of contact with the detainees so they are concerned about their welfare.
