Fighting hampers farmers to harvest paddy in Arakan State

Fighting between the Tatmadaw and the Arakan Army have prevented farmers to harvest more than 12,000 acres of paddy fields in Rathedaung, Buthidaung, Ponnagyun, Mrauk-U, Minbya, and Myebon townships, according to Arakan State Farmers’ Union.

An anonymous villager said that a fight erupted between the Tatmadaw and the Arakan Army (AA) at around 4 p.m. on November 18 near Yaw Chaung village in Myebon, and two helicopters from the Tatmadaw arrived and launched the air attack.
