Five killed, 10 injured in junta airstrike on Maungdaw Twsp village

A Myanmar regime air attack on Pharwatchaung Village, part of Arakan State's Maungdaw Township, killed five civilians and wounded at least 10 others at around 2 a.m. on October 21.
The deceased have been identified as Daw Hla Hla Aye, 58, Ma Khin Thidar Htay, 26, Ko Nay Zaw Oo, 29, Ko Maung Maung Thein, 20, and Ma Aye Aye Aung, 26.

Three homes in Pharwatchaung Village were also destroyed by the regime airstrike.
Civilian casualties continue to rise in Maungdaw Township due to the junta's artillery attacks and aerial targeting of residential areas.
"The regime carries out airstrikes in Maungdaw Township on a daily basis without fighting in the area. There was no fighting near Pharwatchaung Village when the junta conducted an airstrike," said a local resident in Maungdaw.
Five Muslims were reportedly injured in a junta artillery attack on Maungdaw Township's Du Nyaungbingyi Village at around 1 a.m. on October 19.
Clashes between the military and Arakkha Army (AA) are reported on a daily basis as the ethnic armed group is attempting to capture the entirety of Maungdaw Township.
At least 39 civilians in Arakan State have been killed and 70 others were injured in junta air raids and artillery strikes since October 1, according to a DMG tally.
