According to data collected by DMG, a total of 128 civilians were killed and 49 others injured in Arakan State during March 2026 due to the regime's airstrikes, drone bombings, heavy artillery fire, landmines, unexploded ordnance, and killings by the Arakan Rohingya Salvation Army.
Among the casualties, the majority resulted from the regime's aerial attacks, which killed 124 people and injured 36. Additionally, 7 people were injured by drone bombings.
Landmines and unexploded ordnance caused 2 deaths and 6 injuries, while 2 individuals were killed by ARSA.
The number of casualties continues to rise monthly as the regime carries out persistent airstrikes on civilian targets, including villages, schools, hospitals, clinics, religious buildings, and displacement camps.
“Civilian fatalities in Arakan State saw a significant spike during February and March. With 116 deaths occurring in a single prisoner of war camp, the numbers have increased substantially compared to previous months,” said an official from the DMG Research Department.
Frequent airstrikes across Arakan State have caused widespread psychological trauma and fear, with victims calling for accountability.
Daw Hla Nu May, a family member of a victim killed in an airstrike, said: “What we want to ask is, do international authorities not see the mass killings of Arakanese people happening right now? We want the regime to be punished appropriately for these cruel killings of civilians. Now, even staying in our own homes, we suffer from trauma, constantly wondering when a bomb might fall on us.”

Although international humanitarian law mandates the protection of civilians and prohibits targeting, arresting, or using them as human shields, the military council continues to violate these provisions.
On March 8, the regime carried out a three-hour airstrike on a prisoner of war camp in the Darlatchaung area of Ann Township, killing 116 prisoners and injuring 32 others.
