The People’s Revolution Alliance (PRA-Magway) in a statement on Wednesday said anti-regime forces attacked two junta outposts on the Ann-Padan road linking Magwe Region with Arakan State.
The attack was jointly carried out by members of PRA-Magway, the Asho Chin Defence Force (ACDF) and People’s Defence Force Battalion No. 2 (Minbu).
Resistance forces attacked two junta outposts near Gotegyi Village and Mile Post 11 on the Ann-Padan road in Ngape Township at around 11 p.m. on November 5, with the skirmish lasting about 30 minutes.
Resistance forces were unable to seize the two junta outposts as the regime provided artillery support during the clashes. Around 10 junta soldiers were killed or injured, the PRA-Magway said in its statement.
The PRA-Magway said that the military objective of the allied anti-regime forces is to control the area west of the Ayeyarwady River and the Ann-Padan road.
Eleven junta soldiers were killed and 17 others were injured in a clash with the Upper Minhla PDF on October 20. Junta soldiers clashed with resistance fighters while attempting to block off the Ann-Magwe and Pathein-Monywa roads.
The ACDF and People’s Defence Force Battalion No. 2 (Minbu) ambushed a junta convoy returning from Ann Township after transporting food on October 28, killing 10 junta soldiers and wounding several others.
With the Arakkha Army (AA) encircling the military’s Ann-based Western Command and intensifying its offensive in Arakan State, anti-junta forces are also cutting off the regime’s military supply lines in the region.
