The regime has stepped up security in Sittwe’s Mingan Ward after three senior Arakan Liberation Party (ALP) officials were shot dead on Saturday, with junta soldiers and police personnel deployed to patrol the ward on Tuesday.

All four telecom operators in Myanmar — MPT, Ooredoo, Mytel and Atom — are installing free Wi-Fi spots for public use in Arakan State. 

“I don’t know their names. I heard the police station chief and his wife, and his two subordinates had deserted. I saw many junta soldiers searching for them today,”

Health officials have warned local people in Arakan State to exercise caution in consuming mushrooms after some cases of food poisoning have been reported in the state.

The Arakan Army (AA) has completed its first training course for officers inside Arakan State, the Information Department of the ethnic armed group said on Monday.

“Cases of dengue fever were mainly recorded in Taungup, Kyaukphyu and Sittwe townships,” said Dr. Zaw Zaw Aung, assistant director of the Arakan State DPH.

The slain ALP officials have been identified as the group’s vice chairman, Khaing Ni Aung; battalion commander Khaing Kyaw Min; and Private Kyaw Kyaw Naing.

The company has sent a notice, asking farmers to pay 27,149,500 South Korean won (43.6 million kyats) in legal costs.

The cash donations contributed by movie stars, musicians, comedians and former Myanmar national team players were made at an event in Sittwe on June 28, the junta-controlled Myanmar Alinn newspaper reported.
