The Chin Brotherhood said Wednesday that it had seized total control of Kyindwe town in Chin State’s Kanpetlet Township on Monday after nearly four months of fighting.

The military regime has forcibly seized over 1,100 buildings including houses, schools and religious buildings since the coup, the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners (AAPP) said in a report issued on Wednesday.

The Arakkha Army (AA) reportedly took complete control of two military camps on the Maungdaw-Buthidaung road in Maungdaw Township, Arakan State, on April 30.

The AA has been attacking junta positions in Ann Township, where the Myanmar military’s Western Command headquarters is based, since March 24.

According to the BNI report, the fighting has been fiercest in Arakan and Kachin states and Sagaing Region since China brokered a ceasefire between the regime and the Brotherhood Alliance in northern Shan State.

Medicine shortages have been reported in Thandwe Township, where fighting between the military and Arakkha Army (AA) is escalating, due to the junta blockades of land and water routes, locals said.

At least 10 civilians were reportedly injured in a junta airstrike on Minbya town, Arakan State, at around 10 a.m. on Tuesday.
