AA deputy chief views mandate as expansive

The Arakan Army (AA) has been able to control many parts of Arakan State during the ethnic armed group’s 14-year revolution, but is expanding the scope of its “liberated” areas, said the AA deputy chief, Dr. Nyo Twan Awng.

Artesian wells not producing water as expected in Sittwe

Artesian wells are being dug to supply Kandawgyi Lake in the Arakan State capital Sittwe, at the instruction of junta chief Min Aung Hlaing, to help address annual water shortages during the dry season, but sources say the wells are producing little water.

Regime still imposing travel restrictions on Ponnagyun-Rathedaung road

The Ponnagyun-Rathedaung road has been blockaded for nearly 10 months despite the latest ceasefire between the military and Arakan Army (AA) being reached on November 26 of last year, according to residents, who say the road remains closed to even local traffic.
